The Challenge

A customer of Akkodis faced challenges in their supply chain operations, primarily due to the manual nature of various critical processes. Handling email data, language translations, and the extraction of valuable insights from unstructured content posed significant hurdles, leading to delays, inefficiencies, and increased costs. Streamlining these processes became crucial to ensure smoother operations and improved cost efficiencies.

The Solution

To address these challenges, Cloud Office leveraged the following Google Cloud technologies. Vertex AI was utilized to harness the power of Large Language Models and extract structured information from unstructured emails. Cloud Storage and BigQuery were employed for storing both structured and unstructured data, while Cloud Functions and Pub/Sub facilitated the event-driven processing of automatically generated file exports, schedules, and incoming emails.

The Results

By automating the ingestion, processing, and mapping of email and data extracts, Akkodis began to streamline their supply chain operations. The system efficiently handles email transformations, translations, and extractions, thereby minimizing delays and optimizing resource utilization. With the upcoming implementation of shipment schedule ingestion and the decision-maker feature, which would act based on the extracted data, the company anticipates even greater improvements, empowering them to make data-driven decisions swiftly and effectively. The company is poised to witness a significant boost in productivity, reduced costs, and enhanced supply chain management, solidifying their position as a leader in the industry.
